Overall rankings are based on the total of your team's best eight Team Beat Averages during the season. Ranking is not based on points scored - this is because the number of points available changes each week. Instead a metric is calculated based on your performance relative to other teams that you played against on any given night.
It’s called a Team Beat Average.
Only your top 8 performances count.
If your team has played more than 8 games, your lowest ranked performances drop off the list, thus maximizing your score. The easiest way to assure a higher score is to play trivia at least 8 times. If you have not played 8 games during the season, even if you performed well in the games you played, your total season score might be lower than those who have played in more games.
What is a Team Beat Average?
