Tips
Here are a few tips based on what I've seen seems to lead to success:
Craft a Team of 6
The more well-rounded your team is, the better chance you have of winning. If you don't really know sports or music or world geography or movies, then invite a friend or two who you know are knowledgeable in those areas. Teams can go up to 6 people, so maximize your brainpower by assembling your team.

Don't leave blanks.
The way the scoring works, you don't lose points for wrong answers. Take an educated guess, you might be right!
For example, if the question is about a Chinese-American architect, a smart guess might be "I.M. Pei", even if you know nothing about him
Go with your gut. Trust your instincts. Remember, I can't give you points if you don't put anything!

Step 1: Learn the game mechanics. Step 2: Profit.
Obviously to win you need to know things, but the teams that usually win are also the ones who have learned how and when to use the "double down" option (see How to Play). Also, sometimes there might be time bonuses, and those can also get you points you otherwise would not be able to get.

If in doubt, buy a drink.
Not encouraging drinking, but I kind of am. You are at a bar after all...

Get to know your host.
The more you play, the more likely you'll pick up on my "tricks". Trivia should be fun! So I like to include fun connections from week to week or carry a theme throughout a game.

Know your state capitals.
There’s only 50 of them, and yet nobody seems to remember them all. This is a favorite go-to topic of mine to ask about.

Be patient and play often.
The more you play trivia, the more variety in topics you'll hear. The big problem is not a lack of ideas, but the limited "real estate" available to me in any one game to include new things. I have a ton of ideas for both individual questions and full rounds, but there's only so many questions I can include in any one game due to time constraints. I also try to regularly include "staple" rounds or crowd favorites, which occupy space in the game that could be used for testing out new topics. I aim for a little blend of what we know works with just a bit of "new" tossed in to test out. If you don't like what you get on any one night, come back next time and maybe I'll strike a chord with you.

Give feedback.
I construct each game myself and I do not use a "trivia prep service". So:
- If there's a round you really enjoyed, let me know!
- If there's something you hated, let me know!
- If there's some topic you want to see more or less of, let me know!
- If you have a "great idea" for a round to include in a future game, let me know!
I am always willing to listen to your feedback. Email me or message me on Instagram.

If you're a league team, don't forget to write your Team ID number on your first round answer sheet. Without it, I may not realize that you're a league team and your score may not get updated on the Season rankings. If you forget your Team ID, you can look back at [past games] and figure it out.
